The Summer Fun List

Many of you may have noticed a craze that has hit the blogosphere lately, the Summer Bucket List.  All kinds of Mom Bloggers are posting about their family lists and what's on them.  Well, hello bandwagon!  Might there be room for one more?
This is our Summer Fun List.  We don't have a cute floor to ceiling chalkboard or handmade literal bucket like some families do.  I just unrolled a sheet of butcher paper a little wider than my arms can stretch and got to work with the crayons.  Moo had fun thinking of things to add, but I have to admit I did a LOT of vetoing.  No, we can not go on a rocket to outerspace, that's just not in the budget this year.
While I ended up adding most of the ideas, there were some really good ones Moo thought up all by herself.  I'll give you a few, just because that's what all the other Mom's are doing and if I'm jumping on the bandwagon, I might as well go all the way.  Why not?
+ Moo makes us dinner  (We already did that one.  I made pizza dough and got out a bunch of fixings
and let Moo go at it.  We ended up with some very interesting combinations, but she was SO
              proud.)
+ Make ice cream
+ Have a fancy, girls only Tea Party with some good friends
+ Cover the driveway in one giant chalk mural
+ See a fireworks show
+ Have a water balloon fight
+ Paint some "pet rocks" for the garden
+ Have a "spa day" at home
+ Learn to play T-Ball
The list goes on and on...and on.  We may get through it all and we may not, but it is nice to have a list of fun ideas to pull from everyday instead of the eternal "I'm bored, but what is there to do?" rut that we seem to fall into.  We are having a great time making wonderful memories, what else is summer for?  I think this Summer Fun List is going to be a tradition for this family.  In just one short month Moo will start Kindergarten and as much as I am glad she'll be going, I'm a little sad too.  I can't believe she's already that old!  So we will begin to fall into the school time table and making our summers count will be important next year.  When I'll only have my big girl all day for two short months of the year.  Sigh.

  1. It sounds like your bucket list is going to be a fun one. I like the "spa day", that should be fun for all.

    Have a great 4th!
